Valerie and I both grew up in Huntington Beach, California from the age of 5. It was an awesome place to grow up in the 60's and 70's. We married shortly after high school. We hit the ground running. Flash forward.....3 sons, 8 grand kids, 20 - 30 years on our jobs, we began to think about retirement sometime in the future. We sold our home of 25 years and moved to the Inland Empire.
One weekend, we heard about Alpacafest West, an alpaca show in Norco Ca. which was not too far from us. "Let's go see what that's about", Val said. That weekend started this adventure. We purchased a total of 4 alpacas a few months later to learn and understand more about them. In a few years we were up to about 20 alpacas ! By now in our mid 60's we needed another adventure. Let's fully retire and relocate our ranch to Idaho and here we are in Payette.
We can now commit the time and recourses needed to make a profitable, efficient, small-scale livestock operation with multiple revenue sources and have added Micro Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys to our ranch with breedings starting in the Spring of 2024.
